The Premises

The Company has a total of around 8000 sq ft of workshops. The village garage in Maiden Law is a fully equipped service and repair bay with a small showroom. Howden Works is about 1/2 mile from Maiden Law and contains the offices and stores as well as a machine shop, engine building bay, restoration bay, competition dept., general workshop and a fully equipped tuning shop with a rolling road dynamometer

The Operation

As Morgan Main and Motorsport dealers we are heavily involved in all aspects of the marque. We have demonstration and hire cars, carry out all development work, supply new and used versions and can carry out any services, repairs or rebuilding as required.

We are also known worldwide for the high quality work that we carry out on classic and vintage cars. Our customers come to us from all parts of the globe and some are brilliant engineers in their own right.

The People

Founder and Managing Director - John Macdonald

In the early 1960's John was working in engineering and racing a Morgan as a hobby. As a result of his successes other competitors asked him to tune their cars.

In 1965 John, with help from his father Iain, set up a tuning shop and in 1966 was appointed Morgan dealer by Peter Morgan. Having raced and looked after Morgan's for about 40 years John is experienced in all aspects of this marque as well as having a wide experience of most sporting cars.

Engineering Director - Peter Cockburn

Peter has been around motor cars since helping in his father's business as a small boy. With almost 50 years experience including race preparation and support, Peter hand builds all racing engines and oversees all restoration work.

Workshop Manager - Peter Davidson

With more than 30 years experience and numerous training certificates, Peter is well qualified to undertake any work on cars from Vintage to modern, including restoration.

Office Supervisor - Liz March

Liz has 40 years office experience and deals with all matters of employment, accounts, stores and enquiries.
